Producer & Founder
Babalwa Rasane-Eidner
Babalwa Rasane-Eidner is a multidisciplinary filmmaker, writer, and producer born in Gqeberha, South Africa and raised in Johannesburg. Her creative journey began in 2004 as a television anchor on e.tv and evolved through filmmaking studies and screenwriting work in the U.S. and South Korea.
Babalwa made her directorial debut in 2024 with Neighbour, a dark comedy she wrote and produced. She brings a rich, grounded perspective to her storytelling—deeply rooted in her South African heritage and shaped by lived experiences across four continents.
Her multicultural lens allows her to tell stories that resonate across borders while remaining authentic to the nuanced complexities of South African identity and culture. Her current projects include the psychological thriller Dead but Barely Breathing and The Sun Warrior, an Afro-centric animation series in development.
